5 reasons to buy the 2014 Acura RDX
1. Smooth driving experience
The Acura RDX comes standard with a 3.5L V6 engine that delivers 273 hp and 251 lb-ft of torque. While this doesn’t equate to much in raw performance, the RDX is still quite capable in a straight line and delivers its power as smoothly as you’d expect from a luxury vehicle. And despite boasting a V6 engine, the 2014 Acura RDX still delivers respectable EPA-estimated fuel economy numbers of 20 mpg city, 28 mpg highway, and 23 mpg combined with front-wheel drive.
If you opt for all-wheel drive, these EPA-estimate fuel economy numbers fall to 19 mpg city, 27 mpg highway, and 22 mpg combined.2. Plenty of room for everyone
The 2014 Acura RDX is a great size SUV for the typical family. It boasts room for up to five passengers, and its rear seat offers plenty of legroom. With 38.3 inches to stretch out your legs in the back, this luxury SUV can accommodate adults comfortably in the rear seat. With 26.1 cu-ft of cargo space with the rear seats upright and 61.3 cu-ft with them folded, the RDX has ample room to handle most of the items you’ll haul around.
3. Plenty of features
If you're shopping for a luxury SUV, you might have certain expectations regarding standard equipment. The 2014 Acura RDX doesn’t disappoint here. It comes standard with a long list of premium goodies, including dual-zone climate control, perforated leather seating, SiriusXM® satellite radio, keyless entry with push-button ignition, a multi-view rearview camera, and so much more. You can also take things further with the available Technology Package that includes navigation with real-time weather and traffic, a 410-watt audio system, voice recognition, a power liftgate, and more.
4. Upscale cabin
You have a certain level of expectation when sitting inside a luxury vehicle, and the 2014 RDX is sure to meet these expectations. Acura filled the RDX's interior with premium leather upholstery, giving it the luxurious look and feel you expect. It even took things a bit further by adding soft materials on most touch points.
5. Balanced handling and comfort
The 2014 Acura RDX skews more toward the performance side in terms of handling for a luxury SUV. However, recent suspension revisions have softened it a little compared to previous years, giving it more balance between comfort and handling than before. This ensures it still delivers the sharp handling you expect while also giving you a ride that’s plenty comfortable for your daily commute.
