The 2022 Lexus NX 450h+ is an all-new luxury plug-in hybrid SUV
The 2022 Lexus NX 450h+ marks the debut of the plug-in hybrid version of the popular Lexus NX. There's also a standard hybrid version to go along with the all-gas NX. The NX 450h+ shares technology with the popular Toyota RAV4 Prime, but the Lexus gets an expectedly luxurious treatment.
The fuel economy is impressive for the NX 450h+. You can go an EPA-estimated 37 miles on a single electric charge, and even in regular hybrid mode, you can expect an EPA-estimated 35 miles per gallon. Fuel economy figures are based on EPA estimates for when vehicle sold as new. Actual mileage will vary based on things like battery age, vehicle condition and history, driving and charging habits, accessory use, and driving conditions. Battery capacity may decrease with time and use. See fueleconomy.gov for more info. Both of those figures are among the leaders when it comes to plug-in hybrid SUVs.
The NX 450h+ is also quick, offering 304 horsepower and the 0-60 mph time is quicker than 7 seconds, meaning you don't need to sacrifice fuel economy to get easy, powerful acceleration. That said, while it's quick to accelerate, it's not exactly fun to drive. The steering is a bit clunky, which you'll notice when navigating tight turns in parking lots or small neighborhoods.

What We Like
Impressive fuel economy: The Lexus NX 450h+ delivers on its No. 1 goal: It gets great gas mileage. When its battery is full, you can expect an EPA-estimated 37 miles of range. When that battery is depleted, you'll still get an EPA-estimated 35 miles per gallon.
Great interior: Comfortable seats, a smooth ride, and a solid infotainment system on a 14-inch touchscreen add up to a solid interior. Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ are standard, and the cabin is remarkably quiet when running on all-electric power.
Impressive technology: The NX 450h+ comes standard with helpful driver aids, including adaptive cruise control and blind-spot warning. A surround-view monitor is also standard and it pairs well with the large touchscreen display.
What Needs Improvement
Storage: This is undoubtedly where the NX 450h+ is at its weakest. The 22.7 cubic feet of rear storage offered in the NX falls far behind rivals like the BMW X3, which delivers more than 28 cubic feet.
