5 reasons to buy the 2018 Mercedes-Benz Metris
1. Large cargo area
The 2018 Mercedes-Benz Metris offers a pleasingly large cargo volume, even though it’s significantly smaller than a full-sized van. It has 186 cu-ft of space and plenty of tie-down positions for the cargo. If you find the extended wheelbase version of the 2018 Mercedes-Benz Metris, it has 199 cu-ft of space.
2. Good towing for its class
The towing capacity of the 2018 Mercedes-Benz Metris boosts the utility of this very practical van. With its 2.0L turbo engine it can tow up to an estimated 5,000 lbs when properly equipped and comes pre-wired for trailer use.
The Cargo version also has a payload capacity of 2,502 lbs, which is more than enough for a lot of equipment, tools, and/or machinery.3. New for 2018
The 2018 Mercedes-Benz Metris has undergone a few changes for this year. A rearview camera is now standard for all versions of the Metris, which is always a welcome addition. On top of that, there’s now an extended wheelbase version for the Passenger model, meaning you get even more space (the larger wheelbase is 135-inches, versus the normal 126-inch version).
4. Strong engine
The 2018 Mercedes-Benz Metris is a strong performer and part of this is its powerful engine. The 2.0L turbo engine is certainly energetic, giving it an edge when overtaking and getting up to speed. It can achieve zero-to-60 in 7.9 seconds, which is certainly feisty for a small van.
5. Four versions
There are four versions of the 2018 Mercedes-Benz Metris available, so keep an eye out to find the one that suits you. You can either have the Cargo model, which has an open space behind the front seats, or a Passenger version with five, seven, or eight seats, depending on the configuration. Every version comes with the 2.0L 208-hp engine and includes automatic headlights, remote locking, air con, Bluetooth® connectivity, and a five-speaker audio system. Worker models of both Cargo and Passenger types have the fewest additional features, but look for the available packages to boost the tech benefits, driver aids, and make the Metris look a little swankier.
