2024 Volvo S60 review

1. Balanced base engine 

The 2024 Volvo S60 has two engine options, and both are well-balanced. The base turbocharged 2.0L in the B5 models is a mild-hybrid setup that delivers 247 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The B5 has a standard front-wheel drive, but you can opt for an all-wheel drive. This results in peppy performance, but its real claim to fame is its EPA-estimated 26 mpg city, 35 mpg highway, and 30 mpg combined with front-wheel drive.  

2. Plenty of driver-assist features 

The 2024 Volvo S60 focuses on helping make your daily commute as comfortable as possible. It does so with a long list of standard driver-assist features. These features include blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keeping assist, oncoming lane mitigation, road sign recognition, automatic emergency braking, and more. In higher-trim models, you’ll even get the Pilot Assist technology, which allows for hands-free driving in some conditions.  

3. Electrifying optional powertrain 

While the S60’s base 2.0L engine will satisfy you, the S60 recharge models are great for your inner motorhead who needs more performance. This model pairs a 2.0L turbo four-cylinder engine with an electric motor for 455 hp and 523 lb-ft of torque, which leads to a 4.3-second zero-to-60 sprint time. This plug-in hybrid model comes standard with all-wheel drive for optimal grip and delivers an EPA-estimated 40 miles of all-electric driving range and a combined 74 MPGe.

4. Excellent front seats 

The stars of the 2024 Volvo S60’s interior are its front seats. These seats do a great job of balancing sport with comfort by offering ample bolstering that keeps you in place during spirited driving and soft and supportive padding for superior comfort. This means they are ready for any trip you plan to take, whether it’s a Sunday drive through the country or your daily commute to the office. You also get 42.3 inches of front legroom, so you have plenty of space.

The 2024 S60 has loads of features to help enhance comfort and more.
