Great car, with great features. The car is pretty quick and I have to be careful on the freeway. I bought this car because I was going to be traveling from Seattle to Portland several times a month and I needed a car that would be reliable and comfortable, and also would fit our family the rest of the time. The wife fights me for it on days when I am not traveling and the kids love riding in it. The only real downside is the gas mileage. You need premium gas and it averages around 26 to 27 mpg even with heavy freeway driving. I've got it up to 31 mpg when it was exclusively freeway driving, but as soon as you do some city driving it dips down. Overall, it's a great car and I highly recommend it.
2012 Acura TLAndrew Smith - Laurel, MD01/25/2016
The Acura TL-SHAWD has all the horsepower (305) you will ever need. It also sticks to the road as good or better than a BMW-M3. The interior is comfortable and nice looking. All the buttons are where they should be and most are on the steering wheel. Just a well built fun to drive car.
The Perfect Balance
2008 Acura TLKelvin Askew - SAN DIEGO, CA02/01/2016
The 2008 is a well-balanced car. Great performance, Excellent features, Reliable, A head turner as it is still one of the most beautiful cars on the road and just an all around pleasure to drive. Truly a best value and the most bang for your buck in the used car market. I couldn't be happier with my purchase and feel fortunate I was able to purchase this vehicle with low mileage, the right color, tech package and excellent condition as they are getting harder and harder to fine. I GOT MINE!!!!
Acura TL Overview
The Acura TL is a midsize luxury sedan that has all of the standard luxury sedan offerings for a lower price than its competitors. The interior cabin is spacious and well-designed with a unique blend of sport, reliability, and horsepower.
Acura TL History
The current, or fourth-generation, Acura TL debuted in 2009. Compared to earlier TLs, the current model has more interior room than the third-generation vehicle. As Acura's midsize sedan offering, the TL has been well-supported throughout each generation with features that leave most luxury shoppers satisfied.
How It Drives
The Acura TL drives comfortably with sophisticated entertainment systems, spacious cabins, and user-friendly features. The vehicle has coordinated handling for any urban driving. Specifically, the front-wheel drive version of the vehicle is more design
and comfort-oriented compared to their competitors like the Nissan Maxima, Lincoln MKZ, or Lexus ES 350. Though the all-wheel drive Acura TL lands in a tougher competitive set of vehicles, it's still respectable on the road and in price range.
Used Acura TL Value
All generations of the vehicle stand the test of time. Though earlier generations may be less exciting than more recent iterations, because each generation had positive reviews any Acura TL should be considered as an affordable midsize sedan that will serve the driver well. If all-out athleticism isn't your priority, this vehicle will be the most valuable selection among competing German midsize sports sedans.
Acura TL Standard Features
All Acura TL's come with powerful 3.5L V6 engines with an available upgrade to 3.7L V6 engines. Additionally, all-wheel drive is available as well, in case front-wheel drive is not preferred. As a luxury midsize sedan, the vehicle prioritizes cabin space and driving experience. Base models are equipped with leather upholstery, stereo speakers, 17-inch wheels, and a sunroof. The Acura TL is competent on the road without any major flaws outside of its cargo capacity.
If you’re conducting used car research to find a deal on pre-owned luxury vehicles, it only makes sense to learn about the Acura TL—a car with touring luxury actually built into its name. The Acura TL is a mid-sized luxury car that succeeded the Acura Vigor and was produced between 1996 and 2014. While the first-generation Acura TL (1996 to 1998) was manufactured in Japan, production soon shifted to the Honda plant in Marysville, Ohio.
The Acura MDX, which entered the market in 2001, was designed to address the need for a high-performance people-mover with an abundance of luxury features. Although the MDX replaced Acura’s SLX, its build was actually based on the popular Honda Pilot.
