Generation Overview

The 2019 Impala is part of this midsize sedan's 10th generation of production (2014-2020), which was built on the same platform as the popular Cadillac XTS and Buick LaCrosse sedans. By the 2019 model year specifically, the Impala received a few changes that included standard keyless entry and ignition on every trim, as well as Chevy's MyLink® infotainment system. For the first time, the V6 engine was also optional on both the LS and LT trims.

2019 Chevrolet Impala Engine Options

The base engine on the front-wheel-drive 2019 Impala is a 2.5L four-cylinder, which is good for 197 hp and is paired to a six-speed automatic transmission.

If you're looking for something with a little more power, the Premier trim comes standard with a 3.6L V6 engine at 305 hp and is coupled with the same six-speed automatic transmission. This engine was also optional on the LS and LT trims when the 2019 Impala was sold new, so you may be able to find a used model equipped with the V6 as well.

2019 Chevrolet Impala Interior

At 18.8 cubic feet, the 2019 Impala offers a large trunk with a wide opening to make loading groceries and other gear a breeze. Meanwhile, standard 60/40-split rear seats allow you to extend cargo storage for longer or bulkier items when the need arises.

Up front, an eight-way power-adjustable driver's seat is also standard, so you can enjoy customizable support and comfort while you're behind the wheel. And in the rear row, even taller passengers will enjoy ample legroom and headroom.
