Great car

2016 Chevrolet Impala Casondra Clemons - Beaumont, CA 04/01/2017

Pros: I love pretty much everything about this vehicle.

2016 Chevrolet Impala Overview

For people looking for a stylish sedan with plenty of room and an option for a lot of power, the 2016 Chevrolet Impala is worth a look. It offers benefits to someone looking for a large, comfortable sedan that is still sporty and stylish enough to get noticed.

2016 Chevrolet Impala History

The Impala has been a popular Chevrolet model for a variety of reasons ver time it has changed in looks and offerings. has not strayed from an overall size and has always been a bigger car even when other companies were making things smaller. 2016 Chevrolet Impala features:

  • Wireless phone charging and Apple CarPlay
  • A V6 engine that really provides power despite the size of the car
  • A -cylinder engine that is still available on the base model
  • Leather upholstery instead of the cloth used in previous models

How It Drives

There are a few downsides to the 2016 Chevrolet Impala, and one of them driving it with the -cylinder engine option. This size engine just does not provide the power needed for the size of the car. However, the V6 engine is much better, and can move the Impala down the road with impressive speed. Handling is good, and the car is quick and responsive under a variety of conditions. The V6 model has a higher price tag and the fuel economy is not as good, but the power is well worth the trade-off. A quiet interior and quality ride add to the value this big car offers.

Used 2016 Chevrolet Impala Value

When compared to similar full-size sedans, the 2016 Chevrolet Impala holds its own. Even with depreciation, the car is still highly valued by people looking for a larger vehicle to enjoy and appreciate. Similar cars include the Toyota Avalon, Kia Cadenza, Chrysler 300, and Hyundai Genesis and Azera. Some of these vehicles can be bought for a bit less, but that does not mean they are a better value. They are worth checking out before you select the Impala, but keep the 2016 Chevrolet on your list. It is well worth the price for the quality and value it offers, and it holds its own very well against the competition.

Design & Performance

The 2016 Impala has all the class and style you would expect from a larger sedan and a quality Chevrolet product. It comes in a number of trim levels, so buyers can choose whether they want a smaller engine and fewer features for a lower price, or whether they would rather choose a top-of-the-line model with the larger engine and all of the features that are available. There are options for everything in between, including:

  • Larger wheels
  • An engine block heater
  • OnStar with a Wi-Fi hot spot and 4G connection
  • Rear parking sensors
  • A power-adjustable eight-way driver's seat

Powertrain & Engine

The available four-cylinder and V6 engines are both quality options. They are built to last and warranted properly. The difference is in the actual power produced. With the four-cylinder option, the car feels underpowered and sluggish in both zero-to-60 times and when needing extra power in traffic. The V6 takes care of that problem quickly and efficiently, with plenty of power for daily driving. While the four-cylinder offers 196 hp, the V6 provides 305 hp, which is a noticeable difference and makes driving a larger car much more comfortable from a power standpoint.

Body Style & Interior Comfort

The body style has not changed from the previous model year, but it was already a popular and elegant choice. Where the 2016 Chevrolet Impala is different is in the interior, where it is graceful and elegant. From what you see on the outside, you expect the inside to offer a quality experience and it does not disappoint. The phone and navigation functions are easy to use and tie things together nicely, while the design of the dashboard provides a wraparound effect buyers have come to expect from Chevrolet. The 2016 Impala offers:

  • MyLink touchscreen infotainment system with an intuitive interface with high-resolution graphics
  • Plush, wide seats and plenty of interior legroom for comfort
  • A trunk with an impressive 18.8 cubic feet of space
  • A 60/40 split rear seat for added cargo room when necessary
    • While some of the trim could be more elegant and the four-cylinder engine is a bit of a miss for such a large car, the 2016 Impala is a great overall choice for a large sedan.
