Buy it used you will save MONEY!!!!!!!

Rule Nubmer 1 buy used!!!!!!! If you need basic transportation for the whole family the Impala will foot the bill. Its an attractive mid-full size sedan with comfortable seating excellent storage space and a smooth comfortable ride the LT and LTZ models have some attractive wheel options and the onboard technology options provides you with a lot of bang for your buck. Often these cars are used as upgraded options by rental companies and you can pick up a nice quality used car with light milage for a signigicantly discounted price. My advice if you are considering an impala. Buy it used get an extended warranty and plan to drive it till the wheels fall off

Pros

  • Interior Space: Interior room is quite comfortable for long rides
  • Power: Drivetrain has adequate power at all speeds
  • Cabin Noise: Noise is minimal

Cons

  • Dashboard: Plastic and cheap
  • Fuel Economy: This car shines on the highway with an impressive 31 miles per gallon however it is cut in half for around town driving

Consumer Reports loved this car

I have relied on Consumer Reports for car purchases for 2 decades. They highly recommended the 2012 Chevy Impala. Car purchase at Car Max was easy as pie. Car had to be driven from Ft. Lauderdale to Orlando. Bought it without haggling over the price. I had done my homework on line to determine what the average price one should pay for the car and the Car Max price was in that range. Have had the car for almost a half year now and love the automobile.

Pros

  • Ride and Handling:
  • Interior Space:
  • Cargo Space:

Outstanding road trip sedan

One of the largest sedans currently out there, this is a great road trip vehicle. Smooth, quiet ride, comfortable seats, good power, massive trunk. The infotainment system with Apple CarPlay is easy to navigate. It’s unfortunate these didn’t sell very well, but so many want trucks and SUVs nowadays. As a used vehicle, these are a great value. The only other comparable, affordable sedan of its size is the Toyota Avalon, and those are more expensive, and I’d argue are not as nice style-wise. If looking at Impalas, I’d recommend a 2016-2017 LTZ or 2018-2020 Premier with the convenience package (ventilated seats with memory) and the confidence package (automatic emergency braking and lane departure warning).

Pros

  • Ride and Handling: Smooth ride
  • Seat Comfort: Comfortable seats
  • Styling: It’s not an SUV.
