If you live in a home where you can install a charger and you have a fairly normal daily commute, this is an absolutely fantastic car. I'm not a huge fan of Chevy, but it's clear they have put a great deal of work into this vehicle. We owned a 2012 Volt and when it was totaled we bought a 2014. It's slightly better in most areas and we are very happy with it. The only downside is that it defaults to low power charging and the default can't be changed. Not even by the dealer! So if you install a level 2 charger, you will have to go into the menu every time you park to charge and change the charge level. It's infuriating because it didn't work that way on the 2012 model and it doesn't work that way on our Nissan Leaf.
I would recommend this car to anyone that has a true love for the sport car experience. Having 400 hp in the l99 give you plenty to have some serious driving. Being placed on the zeta frame i have yet to have the car feel overwhelmed by the power and seems firm to the road. The brembro brake package also is very smooth and stops very quickly. The interrior staying gives you room for 2 people comfortably and the option for 2 more uncomfortably, however it can be done.
I bought the red car which was not my first choice, but what they had with the amenities and accessories that I wanted. So my husband talked me into it. I love it, the red is a beautiful color the interior is goldish tan and black inside and looks very classy. It's easy to clean also. It's the easiest car to drive I pull it in my garage and plug it in overnight and it's fully charged every morning. I get a full commute 22 miles each way on one full charge. It saves me 75 to 80% of the money I was spending on gasoline.
