About the Chevrolet Malibu Limited

Vehicle Summary

Sometimes, when vehicles are in between generations, automakers release a value-oriented version of the previous generation while the redesigned model is being finished up. The Chevrolet Malibu Limited is exactly that; a carryover from the 2015 Malibu as the ninth generation (2016-2020) was preparing to launch.

This five-passenger midsize sedan can be a great pick if you're looking for a sensible family car. Equipped with a standard 2.5L four-cylinder engine and standard features like a power driver seat, Bluetooth® connectivity, and a six-speaker sound system, this vehicle is ready for the road ahead. For cargo storage, the 2016 Malibu Limited also boasts a spacious 16.3 cubic feet of trunk space. And if you're looking for more creature comforts, be sure to check out the LTZ trim, which offers standard equipment like leather upholstery and automatic dual-zone climate control.

Looks good, drives bad

Had a long list of issues only 3 months after getting the car. My mother also had a ton of issues with her malibu, but I love the design of the car so much that I gave it a chance. Big mistake. Had multiple bad O2 sensors, bad MAF sensor, struts, engine mounts, and control arm.

Great choice

After shopping around for a few months for a nice sedan I finally decided on this 2016 Malibu LTZ. It's roomy inside but not oversized outside. I almost went with the Cruze but this was just a little more spacious and it gets about the same mileage.

  • Dashboard: Hidden compartment behind radio
  • Ride and Handling: Gets up to 90mph quickly and rides smoothly at high speeds
  • Cost to Maintain: GM parts always cheaper than imports

  • Fuel Economy: Eco engine turns off engine randomly, not a fan of the feature
  • Technology and Entertainment: Bluetooth doesn't always auto connect
  • Power: It's a 4 cylinder, so it's not going accelerate very fast
