In the nearly six months I've owned this car, I have only purchased about 3-4 gallons of gas. For someone like me, who commutes less than 20 miles per day, the electric charge is more than enough for my commute, plus any errands in the area. Even if the battery is depleted, I know the gas engine will kick in and get me the rest of the way. The car itself is solid and any cons come down to nitpicking to find something wrong.
Way more than I expected from an electric car!

When Chevrolet decided to create an electric car, they decided to pull out all the stops. This car has everything and more. Not only is it a pure electric car, meaning it's primarily driven from the electric motors, but it also has the extended range feature of the 1.4 litre engine meaning I NEVER worry about running out of charge. What a relief. And not only is the car loaded with great features, the car drives GREAT. In sport mode it is super responsive. It tracks the road great, and is smooth as silk. I and my whole family love how quiet it is and very comfortable as well. The only problem I have is because the car is so quiet and so smooth, with no engine vibration or transmission shifting, I am constantly speeding! But so fun to drive!
The volt lives up to its promise.

The volt is a great implementation of technology. Once they get EV charging back up and running at my work, I will rarely buy gas. Plus charging it at home is so cheap. If you're trying to decide between this and a leaf, it's not even a contest. The engineering, materials, and flexibility of the volt made it an easy decision for me.
