I'm 6 feet tall and find most cars difficult to get in and out of, this car you can slide right in and out. We have taken three long trips with it so far, and have found it to be a great handling car, very comfortable stable ride, well suited for long trips as well as running errands locally.

Generation Overview

The GMC Terrain’s story starts back in mid-2009, when the compact crossover SUV was introduced as a replacement of sorts for the soon-to-be-discontinued Pontiac Torrent for the 2010 model year. The Terrain uses the same Theta platform as the similarly-sized Chevrolet Equinox and Cadillac SRX. The Terrain’s distinctively upright and angular styling sets it apart from its platform siblings, not to mention other SUVs with sleeker styling.

The 2015 GMC Terrain comes in SLE-1, SLE-2, SLT-1, SLT-2 and Denali trims. From the start, you’ll get cruise control, and available OnStar functionality, which includes features like roadside assistance and 4G LTE Wi-Fi connectivity when activated.2 Remote keyless entry is standard across the board, but remote vehicle start requires the optional Convenience Package on the SLE-2, with other trims including the feature as standard.3

Moving up to the SLE-2 gives you features like automatic climate control, premium cloth seating and an upgraded eight-speaker audio system. You’ll find perforated leather upholstery and an optional height-adjustable power liftgate on the SLT-1, while the SLT-2 adds driver seat memory controls and an available dual-screen DVD rear entertainment system to the SLT-1’s generous feature set.

The Denali stands as the top trim in the 2015 GMC Terrain hierarchy and it shows thanks to its distinctive exterior features. In addition to a unique honeycomb grille, the Denali also adds 18-inch and 19-inch satin chrome-clad wheels and satin chrome rocker panels to the Terrain’s exterior appearance. Inside, you’ll find perforated leather seats with the embroidered Denali logo and other distinctive trim features. The Denali also comes with rear cross-traffic and side blind-zone alert systems.

Motivation for the 2015 GMC Terrain comes in the form of a 2.4L four-cylinder engine with 182 hp on tap. This engine powers the front wheels as standard across all trim levels. The 301-hp 3.6L V6 is available as an option starting with the SLE-2 trim. Both engines rely on a six-speed automatic transmission, with AWD available as an optional feature on all trims.

2OnStar features require activation and most require a paid OnStar plan to use. Wi-Fi hotspot functionality may also require an additional data plan. Limitations and restrictions apply. See onstar.com for more information.

3Remote start functionality may require the purchase of a subscription plan and/or a compatible device like a smart phone. See the owner’s manual or manufacturer website for more information.
