First of all the car is a four cyclinder. Slow as molasses. It's loud and the vehicle is really compact inside. I bought it used with 19,000 miles on it. And it's in the shop. Something about he temperature gauge. The check engine light goes on which disables the restore start. It's like -5 outside and really could use that option right now. Had to wait a week to get into the Jeep dealer to be serviced and now have waited over a week for the part to come in. Very unhappy right now. I hear a knocking noise but the dealer service department says he doesn't hear anything. The sound comes and goes and drives me nuts cuz apparently no one but me hears it. Weird huh? Also, it's not quiet at all. You can hear outside noise. Trading in very soon.
We live North Lake Tahoe and specifically bought this car to handle well and safely in this terrible weather and it has not. The wipers stopped working properly after one heavy snow. The car got stuck in the snow outside of our garage when it wasn't even that deep. The pick up is terrible while merging on the highway.
2016 Jeep Cherokee Overview
The original Jeep Cherokee established the concept of the SUV as a family car. Though the 2016 Jeep Cherokee retains its off-road capabilities, it balances its ruggedness while meeting the needs of families.
Features & Specs
Feature packages are typical of its class, with options including panoramic sunroof, leather upholstery, memory heated seats, reconfigurable LED clusters and an optional hands-free parking system to steer and nudge the vehicle into a parking spot. The 2016 Jeep Cherokee comes equipped with an 9.4-inch touchscreen with a customizable menu bar, do not disturb mode and Siri built in.
Design & Performance
The Jeep Cherokee offers rugged design, able to go off-road with ease while still capable of ferrying families with an impressively refined driving experience. Though it's pleasant to drive, the steering feedback is a bit dampened and firm. 2016 Jeep Cherokees come with front-wheel drive standard. Fuel efficiency is decent, but it's not necessarily excellent.
Offered for the 2016 Jeep Cherokee are four trim levels: Sport, Latitude, Limited and Trailhawk editions. The Cherokee Limited is surely the most luxurious vehicle in the lineup, while the Trailhawk comes more prepared for off-roading than the other trim levels.
Powertrain & Engine
Jeep offers the 2016 Cherokee with a choice of either 3.2L V6 or 2.4L four-cylinder engines, both paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission. Though it may not have great acceleration, the vehicle delivers decent fuel efficiency. Additionally, each vehicle has enough power to ensure the 2016 Jeep Cherokee, especially at the Trailhawk trim level, is able to handle just about any off-road situation regardless of terrain.
Body Style & Interior Comfort
The 2016 Jeep Cherokee is built with the recognizable Jeep front-end the brand is known for. The familiar, rectangular front stands out on the road while appealing to Jeep traditionalists. The carefully crafted SUV offers a car-like ride with a cabin to match. Its surfaces are soft to the touch and the cabin filters out noise extremely well. Spacious and well-designed, the seating is extremely comfortable for passengers and drivers alike.
