2017 Lexus GX 460
I love my Lexus tank!

I could buy a crossover for a cheaper price with more room for the kids, but I didn't want something that drove like a car. At 5300 pounds, this thing is a fortress on wheels. It doesn't get good mileage (15 city, 20-22 Highway if level and no speeding) and it's not that fast. If you love the feel of an old school truck like I do, then this GX 460 is perfect! Also worth mentioning that this is a serious off-road machine based on the Land Cruiser Prado, although I haven't done any off-roading of any kind yet.

PROS
Interior Space

Not the most room, but it's perfect for my 3 young kids.

Reliability

The Lexus GX will easily go beyond 300,000 (several V8s in this family have gone over 1,000,000 miles!) if properly maintained.

Visibility

This rides high off the ground and has lots of good visibility. Blind spot monitoring is a plus as well.

CONS
Fuel Economy

You'll be at the gas station a lot in this car. It's not economical. Plus it requires premium unleaded which costs more than cheap gasoline.

Technology and Entertainment

Technology in this car is dated by 5-10 years. I don't really care about technology as it is always going obsolete as it gets older.

Power

It has a little over 300 horsepower, which is inadequate for a 5300 pound SUV in my opinion. I can't imagine how anemic this truck would be if towing at the 6500 pound capacity.

2017 Lexus RX 350
I'm in love

PROS
Ride and Handling

To say that I enjoy driving this car is an understatement. This car has ruined all other cars for me.

Seat Comfort
Reliability
CONS
Cost to Maintain

If you elect to have the dealership perform the maintenance for you, be prepared to bust open the piggy bank. It's pricey but they do treat you like royalty.

Fuel Economy

The fuel economy is average and nothing to complain about, but the gas tank is smaller than what I'm used to so it feels like I'm fueling up more often.

2017 Lexus ES 350
It's a Lexus

It's a awesome vehicle with great safety features. I love the ride it's smooth and comfortable. Most economical for maintenance for a luxury vehicle. Hard to drive another vehicle after driving the Lexus ES350.

PROS
Ride and Handling

Very comfortable smooth ride, quite as well. Seating comfort is great.

Reliability

Toyota statement "built to last".

Interior Space

Very roomy and spacious.

CONS
Fuel Economy

I'm told it's because of the V6 engine, but the gas mileage is just ok.
