The 2011 Mazda 3 is the most reliable vehicle I've ever owned! Not only does it have a sleek, attractive appearance, it handles well on the road, good on gas and can handle a rough situation or 2 (potholes, driving in the snow, bumps and bruises) and still come out shining without breaking or bending. Just keep this baby regularly maintained with oil changes and you will be good.
the grand touring model has everything. The only thing I don't like is the power. It feels really weak. I'm always dragging behind in traffic. And I love the thrill of power. But aside from that this car is fantastic. Above average steering and handling. And I know first hand how well a Mazda 3 will handle a crash (very well). And it does get really good gas mileage. I get about 400 miles a tank or more, half city, half country. If this car just had a little more hp, it has 155hp, if it had just 180 i would give it 5 stars. If it had 200 or more then i wouldn't want anything else.
For the average college student this car perfect. Great gas mileage without the cost of feeling sluggish. the CVT transmission makes it a smooth ride, and the car's acceleration is enough for people who want to feel quick. Trunk and cargo space allows you to haul around 3 other people and have plenty of comfortable space.
This year of Mazda 3's are easily maintained, and have very few recalls. The ones that exist are minor blemishes.
