This is my second Mazda MX5 (Miata). They are both 3rd generation NC's. I've had Corvettes, BMW convertibles and even now I have a Mercedes SL. The Mazda is the only car that comes with fun factor built in. My first Mazda was a 6 speed, but I have some leg issues and can no longer use the clutch, so I found this 8-year-old gem with super low miles with automatic. I would buy this car again in a heartbeat. It's a little tight in the cockpit, but why do you need more? Once you own one, you will never be disappointed.

Fun to drive, good fuel economy, reliable. This is my second Miata, they make great commuter cars as well as fun weekend toys - they're reliable, the handling is great, and the look good. They are smaller than a typical sedan, so they don't have a lot of interior space or luggage space. Obviously, you should make sure you fit comfortably and can see out of it before buying. Similarly if you have to haul kids around, or a lot of parcels every day, then a two seat roadster might not be the right car for you. Fuel economy is pretty good, I'm getting mid-20's to low 30's depending on how much town and open road driving I'm doing. It's not the highest mpg rating but it's pretty good for a sports car.

Pros

Ride and Handling: Nice steering, great roadholding. Very fun to drive even in traffic, makes the morning commute enjoyable
Reliability: Miatas are well known for reliability - my last one was very reliable, and my understanding is the current model is also reliable. I've not had mine long enough to really know, but it has run faultlessly so far in all weathers
Styling: Looks sleek

Cons

Cabin Noise: Can get lots of wind noise with top up, engine noise filters in as well. Not as quiet as a sedan
Cargo Space: Trunk is large for the size of the car, but it's still quite small. Center console storage is about big enough for a mobile phone and a pen. Glovebox and storage box behind seats are fairly large
Visibility: Hard to see out of with top up (most convertibles are), but also with top down, as seat backs/headrests are quite tall.

Pro: Well made, fun, low maintenance, expected to hold value. Cons: Small spaces - trunk, interior - cubby holes not very convient. Light weight materials, arm rest cracks easily.
