The 2017 Mazda MX-5 Miata impresses with its exceptional handling, sporty styling, and reliability, making it a joy to drive. Its fuel efficiency is commendable, but limited cargo and interior space, as well as high cabin noise, are common drawbacks. Ideal for enthusiasts prioritizing performance over practicality.

2017 Mazda MX-5 Miata
Not for everyone
Pros

Fuel Economy

In daily driving, expect to get at least 30mpg, even when you drive it hard.

Reliability

The MX-5 is one of the most reliable cars on the road.

Value

As a truly fun car, the Miata is hard to beat. It’s not a bruiser, and the low cost of ownership make it more attractive than most sports cars.
Cons

Cargo Space

The cargo space is limited, to say the least. Door pockets? Nope. Glove box? Ha! If you’re a pack rat, this is not the car for you.

Cabin Noise

Even with the retractable hard top, this is not a quiet car. Long trips can be tiresome as highway driving really ramps up the noise level.

Weather Versatility

A convertible with low ground clearance and rear drive? Yeah, this wasn’t built for snowy winters.
