Generation Overview

The 2015 Nissan Frontier debuted during this truck's second generation (2005-2020). When the second-generation Frontier launched in 2005, it featured a design that was based on Nissan's larger pickup truck, the Titan. By the 2015 model year, some upgrades offered on the Frontier included a larger five-inch central display for SV and Desert Runner models, as well as a standard sunroof for the SL trim when equipped with the longer bed. On the Pro-4X trim, a built-in navigation system became standard for this model year as well.

2015 Nissan Frontier Engine Options

On the S and SV trims, a 2.5L four-cylinder engine at 152 hp is standard, as is a five-speed manual transmission. When sold new, a five-speed automatic transmission was optional, so you may be able to find used models equipped with this transmission if you prefer an automatic. Every 2015 Frontier model with this engine is exclusively rear-wheel drive, as four-wheel drive was not available for this powertrain.

Optional on the SV trim and standard on every other 2015 Frontier trim is a more powerful 4.0L V6 engine at 261 hp. This engine is equipped with either a six-speed manual transmission or five-speed automatic (Desert Runner and SL trims are automatic only) and was offered with rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive when sold new. Meanwhile, the Pro-4X was made exclusively with a part-time four-wheel drive system as standard equipment.

2015 Nissan Frontier Bed and Cab Sizes

The crew cab, which can seat up to five, features a 60/40-split-folding rear bench seat and is paired to either a five- or 6.1-foot bed.
