About the Toyota Yaris iA

Vehicle Summary

The Toyota Yaris iA is a subcompact sedan that offers seating for up to four passengers. Prior to the 2017 model year, it was branded under the Scion name—though not much changed. Offering 13.5 cubic feet of trunk space and a relatively spacious cabin for a vehicle in its class, the Yaris iA is a compelling choice if you're looking for a small and practical car. And because the Yaris iA is offered in just one trim configuration, it's also a great pick if you want to save yourself the hassle of exploring vehicles with seemingly endless trims and package options.

Toyota Yaris iA vs. Kia Rio

The 2018 Kia Rio is a subcompact car that is offered in both sedan and four-door hatchback styles to suit your needs. Offered in three trim configurations, standard equipment on the 2018 base LX trim includes 15-inch steel wheels, a rearview camera, a four-speaker sound system, and satellite radio. The standalone engine outfitting every 2018 Rio is a 1.6L four-cylinder at 130 hp, which is offered with either a manual or automatic transmission.

In the trunk, the 2018 Rio sedan offers a decent 13.7 cubic feet of storage space, though the second row of seats folds down easily to expand cargo space as needed. There is also plenty of clever small-item storage in the form of a large center console, glovebox, cubbies, and several door pockets.
