The standard Toyota Prius continues to remain a favorite choice among many drivers, and you’ll find lots of 2017 Toyota Prius and 2018 Toyota Prius models available. Other generation options include the Toyota Prius V (an extended hatchback), Toyota Prius C (a subcompact hatchback) and Toyota Prius Prime (a plug-in hybrid). Popular Years
2013-2015 Toyota Prius (Third Generation)
Toyota kicked off the third generation of the Prius with the introduction of the 2009 Toyota Prius model and continued producing third-generation Priuses through the 2015 model. Beginning with the vehicle's third generation, Toyota offered a number of new standard features for the Prius, the most significant of which was the ability to select between three different driving modes - EV mode for electric-only operation at low speeds, ECO mode for improved fuel efficiency under normal driving conditions, and Power mode for improved performance. Other important specs and features that you will find on the 2015 Toyota Prius, for example, include:
- A standard 6.1-inch touchscreen display
- Standard push-button start and remote illuminated entry
- A standard vehicle proximity notification system
- An EPA estimated 48 mpg combined city/highway for the 2015 Toyota Prius equipped with a 1.8L four-cylinder engine1
2016-Present Toyota Prius (Fourth Generation)
The 2016 Toyota Prius marked the beginning of the Prius's fourth and most current generation. The 2016 Toyota Prius received changes to the vehicle's exterior that were designed to lower the vehicle's center of gravity and improve its structural rigidity. Toyota also rebranded its plug-in hybrid model Prius as the Toyota Prius Prime starting with the 2016 model.
In 2018, the Toyota Prius was given another facelift, with Toyota making both interior and exterior design changes to the 2018 model. Other important features and specs that you can look forward to if you choose to purchase a 2018 Toyota Prius include:
- A standard backup camera
- A standard 6.1-inch touchscreen display
- A standard Entune™ 6-speaker audio system
- A standard smart-flow climate control system with pollen filtration
- An EPA estimated 52 mpg combined city/highway for the 2018 Toyota Prius equipped with a 1.8L four-cylinder engine1
