Toyota decided to bring back the iconic FJ Cruiser and they did a great job!! The earlier cruisers have a reputation for being reliable and road worthy, it looks like Toyota continues the tradition. Introduced in 2007, the Toyota FJ Cruiser has an iconic, boxy look that is reminiscent of rugged and versatile vehicles of cars past. Throughout its eight-year run, the FJ Cruiser only had minor changes specific to feature availability.
With four-wheel drive available, a major draw for some car buyers should be the vehicle's off-road capabilities. The Toyota FJ Cruiser was designed to have high ground clearance to further enable this capability. However, because it's such a tall vehicle and suspension was built for off-road capabilities, driving on the road may feel sluggish at times. Compared to other vehicles in its class, fuel efficiency is respectable.
Toyota designed the FJ Cruiser to be smaller, less expensive, and more off-road capable than expected. Despite its retro styling, it appeals best to younger or more active consumers. The FJ Cruiser competes well with other off-road SUVs.
Across all model years, the Toyota FJ Cruiser's core engine is the 4.0L V6 engine. Rear-wheel drive is standard with four-wheel drive systems available. Standard features include Bluetooth connectivity, auxiliary audio capabilities and other technology options modern used car buyers have come to expect.
