5 reasons to buy the 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
1. Suited to the great outdoors
This rugged pickup truck is ideal not only for heavy work but also for enjoying the world outside. The 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 comes with a variety of bed sizes depending on what you’re carrying – anything from hay bales to furniture – and its powerful engine options and comfortable interior give you the foundation for an enjoyable driving experience. The top 6.2L V8 engine can tow up to an estimated 12,000 lbs when fully equipped, too, giving you incredible hauling power.
2. Improved connectivity
Included on most of the lower trims (optionally on the Work Truck) is a seven-inch touchscreen that’s intuitive and easy to use. And now, for 2016, it gains Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ connectivity. To make this an even better feature, the touchscreen imitates the phone’s interface when connected, making it very easy for you to find what you're looking for without referring back to the phone. Higher trims have an even easier time of this thanks to the larger eight-inch touchscreen.
3. Comfy and attractive cabin
If you’re looking for a pickup truck, chances are practicality is your priority. But that doesn’t mean a bit of comfort isn’t welcome. All versions of the 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 have a well-crafted cabin that's sturdy as well as comfortable. There are also useful additions like USB ports and hand holds in the rear corners to make climbing into the cargo bed easier.
4. Strong engine options
The 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 has several powerful engine options to choose from, depending on your driving and hauling needs. The base engine is a 4.3L V6, which tops out at 285 hp and 305 lb-ft of torque. If this isn’t quite enough, look out for one of the two V8s: a 5.3L producing 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque, or a 6.2L producing 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. There are lots of configurations to choose from so a lot of these futures can be mixed and matched to suit your needs.
5. Great features
There are some solid features in the 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. As well as the improved connectivity and USB ports we’ve mentioned, there’s a four-speaker audio system as standard, as well as available wireless device charging, rear-seat entertainment system, Bluetooth®, available Wi-Fi hotspot, and of course the MyLink infotainment system.
All of this depends on the trim and configuration you choose.Shop with your budget in mind
