First generation Dodge Durango
The Dodge Durango has been built on the same platform since 2011 but has gone through considerable evolution. Across those many years, a wide range of trim levels and driveline combinations have been available.
The standard engine for a Durango is Dodge’s 3.6-liter Pentastar V6, but both 5.7-liter and 6.4-liter HEMI® V8 engines have been available, along with Dodge’s 710-horsepower 6.2-liter supercharged V8 Hellcat engine. Since 2014, all Durango models have used an eight-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive is available on all trim levels.
The Durango received updated bodywork and an updated interior for the 2014 model year, and over the next several years added HID and LED lights, engine stop and start, and touchscreen infotainment in 8.4-inch and 10.1-inch sizes. In any given year, the Durango may have had up to 10 different trim levels. Towing capacity ranges from 6,000 to 8,700 pounds, and some trims are available only with five-passenger capacity
