1. Acres of space for people or cargo
The 2018 Dodge Durango seats seven people, but what about all their stuff? With the third-row seats up, there is 17.2 cu-ft of cargo space, which is enough room for approximately five checked bags. Fold down the third-row seats and you have 47.7 cu-ft for large dog crates, tons of camping gear or large yard sale finds. If you need to haul kayaks or extra-long cargo, fold down the second row for 84.5 cu-ft. The Durango is the right size for active family adventures or just the daily schedule.
2. Choice of powertrains
The 2018 Dodge Durango delivers a range of engine options to meet any driver's needs. If you'll be primarily hauling the family around town, consider the 3.6L V6 engine with 295 horsepower. If you carry heavy cargo and occasionally tow, check out the 5.7L V8 engine with 360 horsepower to make short work of steep hills. Limited to the performance-oriented SRT trim, the 6.4L V8 engine makes an impressive 475 horsepower for all your needs. While all engines come with an eight-speed automatic transmission, you have the choice of either RWD or AWD. Keep things simple with standard rear-wheel drive, or look out for the all-wheel-drive models for slippery conditions (SRT is AWD only).
3. Real towing capacity
Have a horse trailer or a boat that needs towing? Maybe a personal watercraft or a trailer for a lawn care side business? No matter your towing needs, the Durango can get your heavy stuff where it needs to be. With the 6.4L engine and optional towing package, the 2018 Dodge Durango can tow an estimated maximum of 8,700 lbs when properly equipped.
If you opt for the 3.6L V6 engine, you still score with an estimated maximum towing capacity of 6,200 lbs when properly equipped.4. Sporty SRT trim
Need more power? Under the hood of the 2018 Dodge Durango SRT is a 6.4L V8 with 475 horsepower. The eight-speed transmission has driver-selectable modes for sport and track, which reduces shifting times. The SRT suspension and brakes receive upgrades too, for an SUV that handles and stops as well as it scoots. The exterior receives an upgrade with forged alloy wheels, fender flares, sporty front and rear facias, chrome exhaust tips, and a vented hood that allows heat to escape the engine bay.
5. Filled with cool tech
The 2018 Dodge Durango is tech-savvy with all the features you'd expect and some unique bonuses. A seven-inch driver information display is standard at all trim levels, and a large 8.4-inch infotainment screen is standard for GT trim and higher. This system features Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ connectivity, plus parking sensors are standard for every trim, while GT and higher get the power liftgate. You and your passengers will love the active noise cancelation system standard on the SRT, which prevents tired ears on long drives.
