5 reasons to buy the 2017 Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid
1. Good gas mileage
All 2017 Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid trims have the same engine. The 104-hp 1.6L four-cylinder gas engine is paired with a 43-hp electric motor and a 1.56 kWh lithium-ion polymer battery. This gives the total system 139 hp and 195 lb-ft of torque, and power is transferred to the pavement through a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. SEL and Limited trims achieve an EPA-estimated 55 mpg combined, but if you need to travel further between fuel stops, opt for the entry-level Blue trim.
It achieves an EPA-estimated 58 mpg combined.2. Feature-packed trims
If you want a feature-packed hybrid family car, the 2017 Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid impresses. The entry-level Blue Trim has automatic projector headlights, dual-zone automatic climate control, a rearview camera, a seven-inch color touchscreen, Apple CarPlay®, Android Auto™, and Bluetooth® connectivity, as well as satellite and HD Radio®. Highlights of the SEL trim include LED daytime running lights and taillights, heated exterior mirrors, heated front seats (with power adjustments on the driver’s side), a rear center armrest, and a seven-inch driver’s digital display. Limited trim adds 17-inch alloy wheels, a power sunroof, xenon headlights, LED interior lighting, and leather seats.
3. Available packages
Available packages give the 2017 Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid even more appeal. The available Tech package for the SEL trim adds driver-assist features including smart cruise control and lane departure systems. Highlights of the Ultimate package available on Limited trim include turn-swiveling headlights, rear parking sensors, a smartphone wireless charging pad, an eight-inch touchscreen navigation system, as well as an eight-speaker Infinity® premium audio system to keep you and your passengers entertained.
4. A practical interior
Open the doors to the 2017 Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid and you’re met with a practical interior. There's 42.2 inches of legroom in the front, with 35.7 inches available for your rear seat passengers. Headroom is almost as generous, with 39.1 inches in the front, and 37.4 inches for those in the back. Trunk space is 26.5 cu-ft, and with 60/40 split-folding rear seats, and a high-lifting tailgate, the wide space is very useful.
5. A calm drive
If you want a hybrid car that is relaxing to drive, then look no further than the 2017 Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid. It is composed and stable when you’re cruising the highway, and turns into corners with little effort. The steering is nicely weighted, making the Ioniq Hybrid easy to maneuver whether you’re dropping off the kids at kindergarten or cruising the freeway.
