5 reasons to buy the 2021 Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid
1. High gas mileage
The hybrid engine shared by all Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid trims allows it to achieve excellent gas mileage. The 104-hp 1.6L gas engine is paired with a 43-hp electric motor to give an overall output of 139 hp, and 195 lb-ft of torque. An EPA-estimated 55 mpg combined is given for SE, SEL and Limited trims. Entry-level Blue trim is more frugal still with an EPA-estimated 59 mpg combined.
2. A smooth drive
Whatever your typical day looks like, whether you’re on the daily commute, going to the movies, or collecting the grandparents, the 2021 Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid is an easy car to drive. A six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission makes driving the Ioniq Hybrid a smooth experience, and paddles behind the steering wheel on SE, SEL, and Limited trims let you adjust the levels of regenerative braking. Stable when you’re on the highway, the Ioniq Hybrid grips well in corners and has a nice weight to its steering for maneuvering around the city.
3. Interior technology
Whether you’re on a solo drive, or have a car full of passengers, the 2021 Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid has interior technology to entertain everyone. Wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ integration is standard on Blue, SE and SEL trims, but every trim has Bluetooth® connectivity, and HD Radio®. If you're a music lover, an eight-speaker Harman Kardon® premium audio system is standard on Limited trim. You can also connect your smartphone to Hyundai Blue Link® connected car services, using it as a remote control to unlock and start the Ioniq Hybrid.
4. An appealing cabin
The design and ambience of the 2021 Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid is appealing. Its elegant design places the controls you use most often in easy reach, and the eight-inch color touchscreen has sharp graphics and responds well. The Limited trim has a 10.25-inch touchscreen with navigation and ambient lighting for an elevated premium feel. An innovation for 2021 Ioniq Hybrid trims is the electronic parking brake control that frees up space, adding to the clutter-free layout.
5. Large cargo area
For a compact family hatchback, the 2021 Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid has a practical luggage and cargo area. There is 26 cu-ft of trunk space, which beats the Ioniq Plug-in Hybrid and Ioniq Electric models. Its five-door shape makes getting in and out easy, and if you need to carry an awkward load, the standard 60/40 split-fold rear seat makes it simpler to accommodate.
