1. An upscale interior 

If you want SUV practicality but don’t want to skimp on luxury, the 2016 Lexus GX 460 may be the car for you. Its elegantly designed interior is constructed from upmarket materials, particularly if you choose the Luxury trim. This has leather seats, and the wood-trimmed, heated steering wheel adds another upscale touch. The refined light or dark color material palette adds to the relaxing feel, and the brushed aluminum trim adds a high-tech look. 

2. Useful versatility 

The GX 460 has seven seats to carry the whole crew when you’re off for a day out. When you don’t need the rear-most two, this third row can be folded flat to increase the 11.6-cu-ft of cargo space behind them. With these and the second row folded, there is 64.7 cu-ft of space. Passengers will be comfortable on a cruise, and when you’re venturing off the highway onto rougher terrain, the Luxury trim’s adaptive suspension system with rear auto-leveling soothes the bumps. The 301-hp 4.6L V8 engine and six-speed sequential automatic transmission are smooth, too, cementing the GX 460’s unruffled demeanor, whatever surface it’s driving on. 

5. Ready for the rough 

When campsites or hill hikes come calling, the 2016 GX 460 is ready for the rough stuff. The standard full-time 4WD system copes with mountain roads or unmade tracks, and the locking center differential is useful to improve off-road traction. The active traction control system sends engine power to the wheels with traction, minimizing tire spin when the going gets slippery. The available crawl control system manages the brakes and engine automatically, so you can keep your eyes on the road and your feet off the pedals.
