The 2022 Nissan Pathfinder boasts three rows of standard seating for a capacity of eight passengers on most trims. Opt for a trim with second-row captain's chairs instead of the standard bench seat, however, and seating capacity is reduced to seven. Regardless, the 2022 Pathfinder offers a surprisingly spacious cabin with plenty of headroom and legroom for passengers. Even adults will be pleased with the amount of space available in the third row.
Every 2022 Pathfinder comes with a suite of driver-assistance features for some added confidence behind the wheel. Even on the base trim, for example, you'll find blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, forward-collision mitigation, automatic rear braking, and a lane-departure warning system. Meanwhile, stepping up to the range-topping Platinum trim yields a convenient surround-view camera system for easier parking.
The 2022 Nissan Pathfinder is offered in four trims: S, SV, SL and Platinum. Some standard equipment on every trim includes tri-zone automatic climate control, smartphone integration, and an eight-inch touchscreen display. On the Platinum trim, you can get Nissan’s ProPILOT Assist, a system that helps you maintain a safe distance between other vehicles, including a stop-and-hold function for traffic.
After a brief hiatus (there was no 2021 model), the Pathfinder was completely redesigned for the 2022 model year. This redesign features an all-new powertrain in the form of a 3.5L V6 engine at an impressive 284 hp. This engine is paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission, delivering plenty of punch underneath the hood. Front-wheel drive is standard, but all trims can be equipped with all-wheel drive.
For a vehicle of its size, the 2022 Pathfinder doesn't skimp on fuel economy. The 2022 Pathfinder base trim with a 3.5L V6 engine, nine-speed automatic transmission, and front-wheel drive gets an EPA-estimated 23 mpg combined (21 mpg city and 26 mpg highway).
