The 2015 Ram 2500 keeps on trucking
The 2015 Ram 2500 (formerly the Dodge Ram 2500) is a capable heavy-duty truck with some strong optional engines and above-average ride quality thanks to its special rear suspension. It comes in a range of cab styles and bed lengths and can be upgraded with options that improve its capability, off-road prowess, and comfort. An 8-foot bed and 6-foot 4-inch bed are available.
The optional gasoline V8 and torque-monster diesel engine can be paired with packages that maximize towing and hauling, and inside the cabin luxuries like heated and ventilated seats are available. That said, the 2015 Ram 2500 lacks the technology features of more current models, and some expected features, like the rearview camera, aren’t standard equipment.

What We Like
Strong optional engines: Heavy-duty trucks are all about towing and hauling, and to get the most out of the Ram 2500, it’s worth finding a model with either the turbocharged diesel engine or the optional gasoline V8. The 6.5-liter V8 makes 410 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque, while the diesel engine produces a massive 800 lb-ft of torque.
Excellent comfort: The Ram 2500’s cabin is quiet and fitted with cushy seats. There are plenty of comfort-oriented options available, like heated and ventilated front seats and power-adjustable pedals. The Ram also rides more smoothly than competitors thanks to its coil-spring rear suspension.
Off-road-ready Power Wagon: Ram packed the Ram 2500 Power Wagon with off-road features, and for 2015 added hill descent control. The suspension and 4x4 system have been modified, and other specialized equipment like skid plates and a power winch are also standard.
What needs improvement
Limited technology features: Touchscreen infotainment, Bluetooth®, and a rearview camera are all available on select trims, but not all the Ram’s tech comes standard. Features like driver aids, front parking sensors, and smartphone integration aren’t on the menu, unfortunately.
