The 2014 Chevrolet Tahoe forms part of the third generation that lasted from 2007 to 2014. This series is forged on a revised full-size SUV platform and a fully-boxed frame includes coil-over-shock front suspension and rack and pinion steering.
The new and stiffer frame provides the strength and ability to precisely mount and tune chassis and suspension components. Added throughout the body structure are components and materials to reduce noise, including special door seals and headliner material. Even the engine uses an alternator tuned for quiet and an acoustically insulated engine cover. Spray-in expanding foam eliminates the intrusion of external sound by filling in space. These advancements add up to a quieter driving experience.
Enhancing the quiet while encouraging a smoother ride is the Autoride suspension system that reigns as a standard on the LTZ. It minimizes body motion and refines your road experience with a damping system that responds in real-time to varying driving and road conditions.
The National Highway Transportation Safety Administration's independent crash tests help you make informed decisions about vehicle safety. NHTSA's 5-Star Safety Ratings give consumers insights into how vehicles perform in crash tests, with more stars equaling higher safety ratings. Here are the ratings for the 2014 Chevrolet Tahoe. Reviews for 2014 Chevrolet Tahoe
No Power with AFM and 6 speed tranny
My Tahoe had no power. It constantly shifted gears and I always felt a 'bump' when driving on the interstate because of the AFM kicking on and off. The slightest incline would cause the shifting to screw all up until the point where you would have to stomp the gas for it to go.
- Ride and Handling: The ride was smooth
- Interior Space: Fits 8 comfortably
- Styling: Loved the looks of it
- Power: constantly shifting and the AFM is horrible
The finest handling vehicle I have ever owned.
- Ride and Handling: Corners very well
- Seat Comfort: I can drive for hours
- Technology and Entertainment: Excellent radio
Love love love my red Tahoe!
II love this car! I love the feeling of stability and substance. We chose the Tahoe because we wanted a truck base, with the durability that unibodies just don't have. My Tahoe has the perfect amount of features, not overkill but just what I need.
- Ride and Handling: Rides like a dream-smooth, powerful
- Safety: Feels very stable.
- Styling: Love love love the Tahoe styling.
- Fuel Economy: In a perfect world my perfect car would get great mileage. Oh well.
- Cargo Space: Would like a lttle more space, I do miss a trunk. But I don't want to go to a Suburban.
