The 2020 Ford Escape is praised for its fuel efficiency, spacious interior, and comfortable seating, making it a practical choice. However, noisy and inconsistent braking performance, occasional technology glitches, and some reliability concerns are noted. While it offers a good blend of features and comfort, some trade-offs exist that buyers should consider.
It is slightly wider than the 2014 Ford Escape we owned. The engine compartment makes it easier to get to the battery compared to the old Escape
On trips we average 34 mpg compared to 26 mpg on the old Escape
Great pickup from a standing start.
Slightly noisier than the old Escape
Lots of payload space, good pickup, quiet engine. Handles quite easily!!!!!!!!!!
Lots of space! I do home care nursing, also carry around a sig amount of horseback riding equipment, transport dogs for rescue
Soooooooooooooooooooo quiet; sometimes I do not know it is on!
If I place the base where I like it, the sound rattles somewhere in the back of the car which can be annoying
When the back seat folds down, to make the payload greater, it is not flush. A bit tough when we have animals in crates in the back or just our own dog sitting back there. The seats are comfy so I understand why it is not flush but I would think Ford could figure that out.
Great hwy gas mileage, good in town as well.
Plenty of space to haul all my gear, love the remote to open and close the hatch back
22 in town and 28 on the hwy, whats not to like? I get over 400 miles to a tank.
The safety features like cross traffic warning, lane departure warning and (my fave) blind spot monitor are great.
Brakes feel "grabby" and if I have to brake suddenly I worry about stopping in time.
Getting used to the transmission and the engine cutting off at red lights has been challenging.
