About The 2015 Ford F150

Vehicle Summary

The Ford F150 has been the best-selling vehicle in America for decades and sets the standard for pickup trucks. Whether you're driving it around the farm or working on the jobsite, the 2015 Ford F150 can be the ideal truck to meet your needs.

The 2015 model year F150 is a very different truck from both its competitors and past generations. Ford replaced the stamped steel body panels from previous years with aluminum alloy paneling; they also improved the design of the frame by using up to 78% high-strength steel.

Ford added a new optional 2.7L turbocharged V6 engine and a standard 3.5L V6 engine for 2015, building on the two engines which were carried over from the 2014 F150. A six-speed automatic transmission is standard across all model trims for sale.

Innovations such as aluminum alloy body panels help reduce weight. According to the Ford, the base 2014 F150 (regular cab) weighs 4,740 lbs., more than 600 lbs. heavier than the 4,100-lb. base 2015 F150 (regular cab).

The 2015 F150 remains a popular choice whether you're a contractor or have your family in mind.

Love my truck and a great price

It's a F 150. Nuff said!!!!!! But seriously, it is a great truck with the all aluminum body puts it right up there with the Tacoma for MPG. The Tacoma does get better mileage but only by 1.5. And with it being a full size truck I'm not as limited to what I can tow or haul.

Pros

  • Ride and Handling: Very smooth
  • Dashboard: Very user friendly and informative
  • Fuel Economy: Comparable to Tacoma

- Jim Jared, 2015 Ford F150

Excellent gas mileage, versatile truck

I get 21mpg in city driving, but can still tow cars with this truck. Replaced a diesel F-250 and was not optimistic about how it would tow heavy loads but it does shockingly well. Seems to still get 17mpg highway when towing a car on a tandem axle trailer which is better than the diesel truck did! Very, very impressed- this is the smaller 2.7 liter ecoboost with 3.31 axle.

Pros

  • Fuel Economy:
  • Ride and Handling:
  • Power:

- Chad Downard, 2015 Ford F150

Concerned about being stranded

It's a very nice truck, but I have several issues that have me worried. The fact that they don't happen 100% of the time I use the truck makes it harder to diagnose. I am concerned that if I go on a trip, I will have a breakdown.

Pros

  • Interior Space: The space is very comfortable.
  • Styling: Great look!
  • Seat Comfort: Love the accessories the seats have.

Cons

  • Reliability: There are 2 concerns with the truck. I have not been able to get them diag owed. CarMax has information that I have provided about this.
