Generation Overview
For the 2019 model year, the third-generation Honda Pilot benefits from a significant interior and exterior refresh. Not only does the 2019 model gain bolder exterior styling cues, including redesigned bumpers, revised taillights and standard LED headlights, but it also gained an updated infotainment system and a redesigned gauge cluster. The available eight-inch touchscreen display includes a physical volume knob instead of the previous year’s touch-sensitive volume slider.
The 2019 Honda Pilot comes in LX, EX, EX-L, EX-L Navi/RES, Touring and Elite trims. While the LX comes with a healthy list of standard features, including air conditioning, adaptive cruise control and frontal collision warning, the EX is the most well-rounded package. An EX-equipped 2019 Honda Pilot gives you features like tri-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, LED fog lights, the updated eight-inch touchscreen display and CabinControl™, a feature that lets rear-seat occupants control various navigation, rear entertainment system and rear climate control features through their compatible smartphones.
Stepping up to the EX-L-equipped 2019 Honda Pilot gives you leather-trimmed seats, a power liftgate and a leather-wrapped steering wheel, among other options. The EX-L Navi/RES sub-trim adds a rear-seat entertainment system and navigation. The penultimate Touring adds hands-free operation to the power liftgate plus features like heated second-row captain’s chairs, a 10-speaker premium audio system and an available Wi-Fi hotspot.2 The Elite trim adds a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, wireless charging and more.
Regardless of which trim level is chosen, every 2019 Honda Pilot comes equipped with a 3.5L V6 that makes 280 hp and 262 lb-ft of torque. This engine is normally backed by a six-speed automatic transmission, but the Touring and Elite trims instead make use of a nine-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive is standard on the top-tier Elite trim, whereas other trims make AWD an optional feature.
2Wi-Fi hotspots require a data plan to activate and may also require a compatible device. See the owner’s manual or manufacturer website for more information.
