Transmission: Automatic Color:Silver Interior Color: Black Average Vehicle Review: (4.235294117647059 reviews) If everything goes right, nobody remembers. If anything goes wrong, It’s a story no one forgets. The Clarity does EVERYTHING I need without a trade off. Fuel economy, comfort, very roomy for my 3 high school/college kids in the back seat. And a FULL SIZED trunk for groceries, book bags, sports equipment, or luggage. “Mom car” talk stops here. The Clarity GOES! In Atlanta traffic (from suburbs to downtown and back), I use zero gas for my 40-45 minute commute at speeds from stop/go to 80mph in HOV lane. Modes allow REAL zip, HV, electric, or charge while driving. “Infotainment” is intuitive like iPad. Great phone connectivity/navigation. Critical point: needs driver attention and adjusting to new. Or it’s an unforgettable story.

Transmission: Automatic Color:Black Interior Color: Black Average Vehicle Review: (4.333333333333333 reviews) I've own the car a year now. I did buy it used (8,000 miles were on it) I have the Touring(fully loaded) . I actually get 48mpg and. City i get 52mpg and 42mpg on the hwy. I drive it for Uber and lyft. Customers love the car, says it very nice looking, very quiet and very comfortable. I love it myself, I do wish it had a digital speedometer (it does only in kph, not in mph) . It rides extremely smooth, has alot of power(especially if u floor it, there is a notch in the gas pedal you feel once you floor it) or put it in sport mode. It has like a 10.9 gallon tank(wish it was a lil bigger) it says you will get 600 to a tank but I've only got 480 at most(440 miles avg) which is still great! Lane keep assist is wonderful for 20seconds.

Transmission: Automatic Color:Blue Interior Color: Gray Average Vehicle Review: (4.470588235294118 reviews) First, I was a truck guy. I stepped out of a diesel F-250 and into a hatch because I was looking at a commute of over 150 miles a day. I was looking around at smaller vehicles because I wanted something with reasonable fuel economy and comfort. I am a tall guy, at over 6' and 200+lbs... small cars generally feel like sardine cans to me. The car as exceeded my expectations on all marks. I log my fuel mileage at every fillup, the car claims my average fuel mileage is 42MPG, my log shows an average across all tanks of 40 MPG. I have to admit, it took two weeks of tuning driving habits to optimize my mileage, I stepped from 80MPH to 65 MPH with a sample size of at least two tanks. 70 MPH is the sweet spot between economy in fuel and time.

Great Hybrid at a Reasonable Price

I've own the car a year now.

Pros

  • Fuel Economy: 48mpg avg with hills, hwy and city( 52 city/43hwy)
  • Technology and Entertainment: lane keep assist, rain sensing windshield, auto bright beam lights, brake hold, remote start, keyless entry, drive modes (eco, normal, sport) paddle shifters
  • Styling: although it's a hybrid, people think its a civic or accord. It is using the civic frame, chassis, ect.. with some accord features.

Cons

  • Reliability: I had to get new spark plugs, new battery for the engine AND new hybrid batteries( all covered under warranty) idk how the previous owner treated it with their 8k miles they put on it but so far no more problems.
  • Cabin Noise: the speakers rattle alot. I dont know when or why Honda hasn't put a Great sound system in their vehicles yet(infinity, bose, karmon) something better than their speakers and the doors rattle also. They need to fix this already.
  • Dashboard: Lack of physical buttons. Lack of digital speedometer, lack of individual psi per tire,

A Seriously critical review of the Clarity

If everything goes right, nobody remembers.

Pros

  • Fuel Economy: 1.5 hrs to full charge with level 2 charger (41.5 to 50.7 miles depending on weather: mild = better charge). Avg cost for full charge $1:37. Avg gasoline need: 1.5 gallons regular every 3-5 weeks = Costs roughly $3.74 every 3 to 5 weeks. Fuel has legitimately dropped to approximately $50/MONTH. Work let’s me plug in the Honda included 12Volt level 1 charger while I’m there. No cost to me after I showed them the energy consumption cost from home.
  • Braking: Regenerative breaking adds to my electric range. In addition, the “paddle shifters” are really “left paddle slows the car/right releases the slowing”. These paddles work with the electric motors to add charge to the battery. The paddles use the motors, not the brake pads, and when combined with the brakes, the stopping is smooth, solid, and BOTH add energy to the car for increased range. Oh, my goodness! Less wear and tear on the brakes AND “free” charging.
  • Cost to Maintain: Uses VERY LITTLE gasoline. Regular maintenance visits are no more expensive than our Honda Civic. There is a sensor that lets the driver know the “oil life remaining.” This is better than the arbitrary miles determination. The tires are low roll resistance, high energy efficiency tires. Although this means it is an initial expensive purchase, the tires are by default, high quality. They have been lasting their full mileage “life expectancy.”

Cons

  • Weather Versatility: Bad decision in newer cars to eliminate the JACK AND SPARE TIRE! The little compressor and “fix-a-flat” canister goop are worthless and leave the driver/passengers/kids stranded if there is sidewall damage, or a hole too large to stop an “air leak”. Roadside assistance is WORTHLESS if cell service is spotty or you ironically have no charge on your cell phone. And no spare is available for purchase yet (without buying a full sized entire tire) and jack. Unnecessary “extra” extra weight. Otherwise, batteries do vary in charge range with extremes of weather temperature.

Hot hatch that is a fuel sipper

First, I was a truck guy.

Pros

  • Fuel Economy: 40 MPG at 70, 42MPG at 65
  • Ride and Handling: Sporty, easy to drive, and fun.
  • Power: The turbo kicks in and you have all the power you want to get on the freeway.

Cons

  • Technology and Entertainment: The honda radio's bluetooth module freezes.
  • Cabin Noise: My wife complains of road noise on the passenger side.
  • Weather Versatility: It likes to push corners on ice.
