For 2016, the Infiniti Q50 received a number of updates resulting in improved ride and handling. Models equipped with the 3.0L twin-turbo V6 engine benefit from the Dynamic Digital Suspension, which constantly monitors and adjusts the suspension to maintain sharp handling without creating a harsh ride. The Direct Active Steering feature also saw improvements in steering feedback. The 2016 model year also marks the introduction of the Red Sport 400, a trim level that adds an extra 100 hp to the 300 hp 3.0L twin-turbo V6, along with a sport-tuned suspension and distinctive 19-inch alloy wheels.
