About the Mercedes-Benz GLE350

Vehicle Summary

The Mercedes-Benz GLE350 is a mid-size luxury crossover SUV that belongs to the GLE-Class, formerly known as Mercedes-Benz M-Class.

The model first entered production in 1997 as the M-Class and was later renamed in 2015 with the release of the face-lifted third-generation (2015–2019) model. The Mercedes GLE350 seeks to deliver a sophisticated, smooth driving experience wrapped-up in a sporty demeanor. The GLE350 is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a luxury SUV with ample storage and off-road capabilities. The 2018 model comes with a Direct Injected V6 engine paired with a seven-speed automatic transmission to deliver robust, adaptable performance. The vehicle also offers a first-class cabin with a roomy cargo area.

In 2019, the automaker continued the trend with a stunning design that you would expect from a high-end sport utility vehicle. Agility control, dynamic select, and trailer-stability assist give you a practical car in a luxury package. The GLE has been fully redesigned for 2020. Some of the desirable features include an attractive upscale cabin, a new infotainment system, excellent outward visibility, and E-Active suspension that makes for a comfortable ride without sacrificing performance. New for 2020 is a 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder rated at 255 horsepower and 273 lb.-ft. of torque mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission.

Q: Does the Mercedes GLE have the 3rd row?

A: While previous model years did not have a third-row option, the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLE does. The design of the fourth generation (2020 onward) of the GLE features significant changes, one of them being a 3.1-inch longer wheelbase. This makes the interior large enough for the optional third-row seating.

Q: Does Mercedes make a seven passenger SUV?

A: Yes. Both the Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class and GLS-Class offer seven-passenger seating. The larger GLS-Class comes standard with third-row seating while it is only an option for the GLE-Class from 2020.

Q: What does GLE stand for?

A: GLE is part of the revised nomenclature for Mercedes-Benz, aimed at making it easier to understand the company's model line-up. The model name is an acronym, with each of the three letters standing for something. The "G" stands for "Gelandewagen," which is German for "off-road vehicle." This refers to the long-running G-Class. The letter "L" serves as a linkage with the letter "E", which is, in turn, the equivalent to the E-Class, one of Mercedes' five core models.

Q: Does the Mercedes GLE have four-wheel drive?

A: Yes. The Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class is available with four-wheel drive on the 4MATIC trim, the name given to Mercedes-Benz's range of four-wheel-drive vehicles. 4MATIC is a four-wheel-drive system where, instead of the engine sending power to either the front or rear wheels, it delivers power to all four, giving exceptional grip and traction. 2019 and newer GLE350's are all 4MATIC.

Engine noise

GLE350 makes uncomfortable noise at engine speed between 1500 and 2000/min. I have other two friends have the same problem. I think this is the design issue.
