FAQ

Q: How many people can the 2019 Toyota Rav4 seat?

A: Though some past model years of the Rav-4 have been large enough to hold a third-row seat, the 2019 Toyota Rav4 has left that option out of its design, which limits seating to five people. The Rav4 includes two front bucket seats and a 60/40 split-folding rear seat that can either seat three or fold flat for additional cargo space.

Q: What kind of fuel efficiency does the 2019 Toyota Rav4 get?

A: As a compact crossover SUV, you can expect that the 2019 Toyota Rav4 would get good fuel economy, and you wouldn't be wrong in that assumption. When equipped with front-wheel drive, the Rav4 has an EPA estimate of 26 mpg city, 35 mpg highway and 30 mpg combined, while the all-wheel drive version has an EPA estimate of 25 mpg city, 33 mpg highway and 28 mpg combined, though the all-wheel drive version has a stop-start option that improves the EPA estimate to 27 mpg city, 34 mpg highway and 30 mpg combined.1

Q: Is the 2019 Toyota Rav4 available in a hybrid version?

A: Yes. The 2019 Toyota Rav4 hybrid features an all-wheel drive powertrain with a 2.5L inline-four engine, which allows it to reach an EPA estimate of 41 mpg city, 38 mpg highway and 40 mpg combined.2

Q: How much can the 2019 Toyota Rav4 haul?

A: When properly equipped, the 2019 RAV4 non-hybrids are capable of towing up to 1,500 pounds, with the exception of the Adventure trim level which can tow up to 3,500 pounds, and the hybrid versions can tow up to 1,750 pounds.3 Behind the seats, you'll find 35.5 to 35.6 cubic feet of cargo space, and with the rear seat folded flat, you'll have 69.8 cubic feet of cargo space.

Q: What are some key features of the 2019 Toyota Rav4?

A: The small size of the 2019 Toyota Rav4 doesn't reflect its list of standard and available features, including up to five USB power ports, a Qi® charging pad, trailer-sway control, anti-theft system with engine immobilizer, power windows with jam protection and tire pressure monitoring system. Available features for the Rav4 include remote start, Entune Premium Audio with Integrated Navigation and JBL® premium audio and SiriusXM® satellite radio, driver-assist features and Bird's Eye View camera.4, 5

Perfect all around vehicle!

Versatile, reliable and fun car to drive. Makes grocery shopping a breeze with the storage, but also has been great driving on road trips to the mountains and using AWD and snow mode. Great comfort and user experience/interface with entertainment and driving controls.

Pros

  • Weather Versatility: Dependable in every situation and it’s rose to the occasion. Drove from WA to CA in December snow and it rode well
  • Fuel Economy: With ECO mode, makes it much more efficient. Small tank as well so it doesn’t feel like you ever spend more than $30 at the pump to get a full tank
  • Interior Space: Seating and and back row is very comfortable for grown adults

Cons

  • Cabin Noise: A little more on the noisy side
  • Seat Comfort:

Smooth, well running car with a sleek look

I love the features of this car once I learned about how to use them. I was coming from a 2009 Toyota Corolla also from Carmax. There are several features, like the controls on the steering wheel and the screen, that are intuitive and easy to use. The car drives so smoothly and I love the different modes you can use on different terrains and weather types.

Pros

  • Ride and Handling: Very smooth when driving in the neighborhood locally or on the highway
  • Interior Space: Very roomy even in the backseat

Cons

  • Technology and Entertainment: A little difficult to learn all the new controls upfront
  • Visibility: Don’t like that I have to turn my lights on manually at night. Used to be automatic based on natural light.
