5 reasons to buy the 2022 BMW i4
1. All-electric performance
The 2022 BMW i4 is an all-electric vehicle based on BMW's 4 Series Gran Coupe, combining sporty, zero-emission performance with the practicality of a sedan. The i4 is available in two models, both of which were released in 2022. The eDrive40 features a single rear-mounted electric motor with 335 hp, while the high-performance M50 packs 536 hp with the addition of a motor up front. The i4 has an 80.7-kWh battery pack, meaning the 2022 i4 eDrive40 (with 18-inch wheels) offers a great range with an EPA-estimated 300 miles on a full charge, while the M50 variant (with 19-inch wheels) delivers an EPA-estimated 270-mile range on a full charge.
2. Powerful acceleration
If you're looking for an electric vehicle with exciting acceleration, the 2022 BMW i4 is one quick EV. Published figures from BMW say a new rear-wheel drive 2022 i4 eDrive40 can cover zero to 60 mph in 5.4 seconds, so you'll never struggle with merging onto the highway or keeping up with the traffic flow. Stepping up to the all-wheel drive M50 variant brings more speed, with BMW claiming a new M50 goes from zero to 60 mph in under four seconds, for extra driving fun.
3. Comfortable interior
The 2022 BMW i4 is an excellent choice for drivers who value comfort and performance equally. The 2022 i4's cabin is richly appointed with standard five-passenger seating, synthetic leather upholstery, power-adjustable front seats, and a sunroof. Similar in size to the 4 Series Gran Coupe, the BMW i4 is also roomy with 112.4 inches between the front and rear wheels, resulting in 41.5 inches of front-seat legroom. Additionally, the seats in this EV are supportive and offer a range of adjustments, making the i4 suitable for road trips or long commutes.
4. In-cabin tech
The 2022 BMW i4 boasts many technologies to enhance the driving experience for you and your passengers. One of the standout features is the iDrive 8 infotainment system, which includes a 14.9-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ capabilities, navigation, and Bluetooth® connectivity. Wi-Fi hotspot capabilities are also available, so your passengers can stream, chat, and surf while on the road.
Additionally, the 2022 i4 comes with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster that displays essential vehicle information, such as speed, range, and battery charge level.5. Helpful driver aids
In addition to its cool in-cabin tech, the BMW i4 includes a suite of driver assistance features for your peace of mind. All 2022 models come standard with automatic emergency braking, which can detect and alert you to the possibility of a front-end collision. If you fail to respond quickly, the system automatically applies the brakes to prevent or mitigate a collision. Also included are a lane departure warning system and blind-spot monitoring with rear-cross traffic alert, which warns if another vehicle is in your blind spot while reversing or making a lane change. In addition, adaptive cruise control is available to maintain a driver-set distance between the car in front.
