5 reasons to buy the 2016 BMW M3
1. It's fast
The 2016 M3 has a turbocharged 3.0L inline six-cylinder engine that pumps out 425 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque. You can pick your gear with the six-speed manual (with automated rev-matching) or there's an optional seven-speed automated manual transmission (M-DCT) with steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters. So yeah, the 2016 M3 is fast in a straight line with a zero-60 time of around four seconds (according to the manufacturer, when new).
2. Track-ready handling
It's rare to find a sedan that handles quite this well. The 2016 M3 gets a host of performance upgrades over the typical 3 Series including a sport-tuned suspension, an active locking differential, and a performance exhaust system. Even the exterior is purpose-built to go fast with a body kit and M3-specific body panels including a larger hood and wider fenders.
3. Luxury touches
While it's true that you can lap the track in your 2016 M3, you can also lap the local highway in comfort. The M3 comes with a host of standard luxury and convenience features like leather upholstery with cloth accents, heated 10-way power front seats (with driver memory settings), a bunch of carbon-fiber interior accents, and dual-zone automatic climate control. So the M3 is no stripped-down track car, it's a comfortable commuter as well.
4. Tech integration
You'll find some pretty solid tech in your 2016 M3 as well. Standard technology features include Bluetooth® phone and audio connectivity, a navigation system, an 8.8-inch display screen, and a bunch of BMW ConnectedDrive apps.
A 16-speaker Harman Kardon® audio system is now standard for 2016.5. Shop the options
You might like that the optional Executive package adds headlamp washers, parking sensors, a head-up display, heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, and a rearview camera. Check out the Lighting package which also adds adaptive LED headlights and automatic high-beam control. Standalone options include things like 19-inch wheels, upgraded carbon-ceramic brakes, adaptive suspension dampers, and even a self-parking system.
