The 2019 Kia Sportage is a five-passenger, two-row SUV that offers plenty of space. With all the seats folded up, there's an impressive 30.7 cubic feet of room. Folding down the second row opens up 60.1 cubic feet of space for those bulky items. You can split-fold the rear bench 60/40 and fold-flat the front seats, opening up many different layout options.
It can be nice having an extra pair of eyes on the road. The 2019 Kia Sportage is available with Kia's Drive Wise™ suite of driver-aid technology. While a rearview camera is standard, mid- and top-trim 2019 Kia Sportage models can include blind-spot detection, lane-keeping assist, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic forward emergency braking, and front- and rear-facing parking sensors. Automatic high beams are also available.
There are two engine choices available on the 2019 Kia Sportage. Standard models are equipped with a 2.4L four-cylinder engine that makes 181 horsepower, while an optional turbocharged 2.0L engine makes 240 hp. A six-speed automatic transmission is standard with front-wheel drive; all-wheel drive is available on all trims. When equipped with the 2.4L four-cylinder and front-wheel drive, the 2019 Kia Sportage gets an EPA-estimated 23 mpg city and 30 mpg highway.
Sitting for long periods should be less tiring in the 2019 Kia Sportage. Even in entry-level 2019 models, front seats are comfortable and supportive. The rear passengers are treated to 38.2-inches of legroom; the second-row should be just as pleasant to sit in, offering excellent all-around support. A well-insulated interior is designed to keep down the road noise, capping off the comfortable experience.
The 2019 Kia Sportage doesn't skimp on the features in the base-level LX FWD trim. This starter trim still includes great features like Bluetooth® connectivity and a rearview camera. You’ll also enjoy heated front seats for those cold mornings and steering wheel-mounted audio controls.
