2020 Land Rover Discovery Sport review

1. Choice of two versatile engines 

Two engines are available for the 2020 Discovery Sport, with both packing adequate power for everyday city driving. The base S and SE trims come with a turbocharged four-cylinder engine, producing 246 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque - more than enough for most users. However, if you want a little more zip, HSE trims include a version of this engine paired with a 48-volt mild hybrid system, which boosts power output to 286 horsepower and 290 lb-ft of torque.  

2. Roomy cabin 

If you’re looking for a spacious interior in your next vehicle purchase, the 2020 Discovery Sport ticks that box perfectly. In standard configuration, you get seating for up to five passengers, with 39.1 inches of front seat legroom and 38.1 inches of rear seat legroom. There’s even space for a third-row seat to be installed if required, bringing capacity up to seven. Comfort features like dual-zone automatic climate control are included as standard. 

3. Useful trunk space 

The 2020 Discovery Sport has a generous cabin and an equally capacious trunk to match. In standard five-seater configuration, you have 27.5 cu-ft of cargo volume available behind the rear seats, plenty enough for the weekly grocery shopping or the whole family’s holiday luggage. SE trims upwards also include a power liftgate, to make loading and unloading easier. Should more space be needed for bulky items, the rear seats are 60/40 split-folding, meaning cargo volume goes up to 55.6 cu-ft. 

4. Impressive off-road capabilities 

The Land Rover name is synonymous with impressive off-road ability, and the 2020 Discovery Sport certainly lives up to the name in this regard. All models include all-wheel-drive as standard, as well as numerous off-road technologies and features. These include the Terrain Response^® 2 system for adjusting various vehicle settings to effectively traverse different surfaces, as well as Hill Descent Control.  

5. Wealth of driver convenience technologies 

For a relaxing journey every time you get behind the wheel, the 2020 Discovery Sport includes numerous driver convenience features across the entire range.
