5 reasons to buy the 2018 Land Rover Discovery Sport
1. Commodious cabin
If space inside is a high priority, you’ll love the 2018 Discovery Sport’s roomy cabin. In standard configuration, there’s seating for up to five passengers, with 42 inches of front seat legroom and 37.3 inches of rear seat legroom. Should you need to carry a few extra passengers, an optional third-row seat increases the capacity to seven. Additionally, all occupants will appreciate comfort features like dual-zone automatic climate control and partial leather upholstery as standard.
2. Ample cargo space
The spacious passenger capacity is matched by equally generous cargo capacity. In standard five-seater configuration, you get a useful 32 cu-ft of cargo volume behind the rear seats -- plenty enough for the weekly grocery shopping to fit inside with space to spare. Should you need to transport extra large items, the rear seats are 60/40 split folding, increasing cargo capacity to 66.9 cu-ft. For added convenience, a hands-free power liftgate is standard on HSE trims upwards.
3. Punchy turbocharged engine choices
The 2018 Discovery Sport can be had with a choice of two 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engines, with both of them offering good power for zipping around town and cruising the highway. The base motor puts out 237 horsepower and 251 lb-ft of torque, while the upgraded engine on HSE and HSE Luxury models increases power output to 286 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. Both are paired to a nine-speed automatic transmission.
4. Strong off-road and all-weather abilities
Daily driving around town is one thing, but what if you yearn for adventure? Or live in an area which can be affected by averse weather, like snow and ice? This is where the 2018 Discovery Sport really shines. A whole range of high-tech offroad features are included as standard on all models, including All-Terrain Progress Control, Hill Descent Control®, hill start assist, and the driver-adjustable Terrain Response® system for adeptly navigating various rough surfaces.
5. Wide array of tech & luxury features available
The 2018 Discovery Sport is loaded from top to bottom with tech and convenience features, with even standard SE models offering a great selection of desirable equipment. This includes rear parking sensors, an eight-inch touchscreen interface, and a ten-speaker sound system all as standard. The HSE trim adds full leather upholstery and a panoramic sunroof, and can be equipped with option packages including the Entertainment Pack, which adds a 17-speaker Meridian® sound system, the InControl® Touch Pro interface, and onboard Wi-Fi.
