2021 Land Rover Discovery Sport review

1. Base engine is a good all-rounder 

The one engine you’ll find under the hood of every 2021 Discovery Sport is ideally balanced for everyday performance. It’s a 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder, good for a power output of 246 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque. It’s zippy enough for urban driving, while still being relatively kind to your wallet, achieving an EPA-estimated 23 mpg on the highway.

2. Roomy cabin 

Step inside the 2021 Discovery Sport, and you’ll be treated to a commodious interior. There’s seating for five in standard configuration, with front row occupants having 39.1 inches of legroom and second-row occupants enjoying 38.7 inches of legroom. Should you need extra capacity, a third-row seat can be equipped to seat up to seven passengers. Leather seat surfaces, dual-zone automatic climate control, and reclining rear seats all come as standard. 

3. Good cargo space  

Continuing the theme of spaciousness, the 2021 Discovery Sport offers ample cargo capacity for all passengers. In standard five-seat configuration, 32.7 cu-ft of cargo volume is on offer behind the rear seats, enough to swallow up the weekly groceries with room to spare. A power liftgate is also standard on SE trims upwards to aid with loading and unloading. The rear seats are also 60/40 split-folding, expanding cargo volume up to 55.6 cu-ft. 

4. Excellent off-road capabilities 

For dealing with adverse weather conditions, or for when you just want to head out on an adventure off the beaten track, the 2021 Discovery Sport is well-equipped for all seasons and all-terrain. Every 2021 Discovery Sport has all-wheel-drive as standard, as well as tech features like the Terrain Response^® 2 system, which enables you to adjust certain parameters specifically for tackling certain surfaces, like sand, mud, and snow. Hill Descent Control is also standard.  

5. Array of tech and convenience equipment available 

With a wealth of gadgets and convenience equipment on offer across all trims, there’s certain to be a 2021 Discovery Sport that’s ideally suited to you. Standard tech includes a ten-inch infotainment touchscreen, Apple CarPlay^® and Android Auto^™ integration, and driver convenience features like lane keeping assist and forward collision mitigation.
