Race car performance every day
While you may not think of a Nissan as an exotic car, the GT-R will change your mind. It can keep pace with higher-end sports cars while being easy to live with. The 2+2 sports coupe with the twin-turbo, 545-hp V6 will rocket to an estimated 196 mph, with room for three passengers. Plus, there’s a trunk with a useful space of 8.8 cu-ft. If you want more of everything, the track-oriented NISMO edition became available in 2015. It rachets horsepower up to 600, with related suspension and performance upgrades to reach 60 mph in 2.5 seconds.

What is new for the 2015 Nissan GT-R?
- The GT-R is available in a new trim called the Nismo.
5 reasons to buy the 2015 Nissan GT-R
1. No slouches allowed
For 2015, the Nissan GT-R offered three trims: Premium, Black and Track, plus the limited production NISMO track-ready edition. Each trim level has leather-appointed and power front seats, a seven-inch touchscreen nav system, and a premium audio system. They all have the same twin-turbo V6 and six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. For 2015, Nissan added insulation and a noise-canceling system to make the cabin feel quieter. The GT-R feels more refined in everyday driving thanks to numerous upgrades, with a more compliant ride and lighter steering effort at low speeds. With the built-in launch-control program that rockets the car from 0-60 mph in only 3.2 seconds, you can see what the GT-R is all about.
2. NISMO goes to 11
Is the standard issue GT-R not fast enough for you? Hang on. The new NISMO edition cranks up the output to 600 hp, cutting the zero-to-60 mph time to just 2.5 seconds. The engine is hand-built and bears an aluminum plate with the name of the craftsperson who assembled the engine. The NISMO also has a stiffer rear anti-roll bar and race-tuned suspension to carve curves with ease.
3. Cutting edge style
The GT-R looks fast even when it’s parked. Examine the coupe from different angles to see how the crisp edges and rounded shapes cut through the air. Downforce generated through the huge front-fender vents helps stick the car to the road. The Black Edition adds to the menacing look with black wheels and a carbon-fiber spoiler. The Track Edition adds a lightweight carbon fiber trunk lid to further reduce speed-sapping weight.
4. Advanced tuning
With driver-tunable vehicle dynamics, you can select from several ride-compliance, stability-control, and transmission-shift program settings that alter the car’s personality. Drive to the track like any commuter car, then engage race mode when you’re ready to experience new thrills. This makes the 2015 GT-R surprisingly versatile for everyday life.
5. Frugal performance
Thanks to the twin-turbo V6, you don’t have to spare the horses to get decent fuel economy in the GT-R. Despite the rip-snorting power under the hood, the GT-R achieves an EPA-estimated 19 mpg combined (16 city/23 highway).
This further adds to its practicality for those days when you don't want to hit the track.Shop with your budget in mind
