This hybrid delivers an EPA-estimated 28 mpg in combined and highway driving. What's more, you only lose 1 mpg in city driving. 2. Plenty of power 

The 2014 Toyota Highlander Hybrid uses the same 3.5L V6 engine seen in the gas-only model, but the Hybrid Synergy Drive system pairs that engine with a high-torque electric drive motor. This powertrain delivers 280 hp, which is 10 more horsepower than the gas-only model has. This hybrid system combined with the electronically controlled continuously variable transmission provides smooth and seamless acceleration. 

3. Comfy second row 

Since the 2014 Toyota Highlander Hybrid only comes with second-row captain's chairs, you'll get incredibly comfortable executive-style seating as standard. As a bonus, the Limited trim comes with tri-zone climate control that includes a separate control panel for this middle section with temperature settings and air vents. This row also benefits from reading lights, armrests, a folding tray with cupholders, and retractable window shades.

The interior of the 2014 Toyota Highlander Hybrid has a lot of premium finishing touches from the contrast seat stitching to the soft-touch instrument panel. This Limited-trimmed model also benefits from perforated leather-trim seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a premium knit roof lining. Extra luxury touches include chrome-plated accents and wood-grain trim. 

5. Cubbies and cupholders 

As a family vehicle, the 2014 Toyota Highlander Hybrid has places to store a lot of things throughout the cabin. In addition to eight cupholders and four bottle holders, the dash incorporates a long tray to hold things like a cell phone or a pack of tissues. The roll-top center console box not only opens without disrupting arm-rest duty but is also big enough to hold a large handbag. Another fan-favorite: overhead console sunglasses storage.
