The 2018 Hyundai Tucson offers commendable fuel economy, interior space, and value, making it a competitive midsize SUV. However, mixed feedback highlights concerns about engine power, cabin noise, and technology limitations. Overall satisfaction is moderate, balancing pros like affordable pricing with cons like limited pickup and noisiness.

terrible purchase

I would not.

CONS
Ride and Handling

when you take off from a stop, it is very rough and not a smooth ride at all. it is something Carmax said is normal with that car. it has not improved in the 3 months that I have owned it and something I feel like will never get used to.

Fuel Economy

thought it would get better gas mileage.

Cost to Maintain

after I purchased it and took it back in for service for the acceleration and hesitation problem, it was recommended to use premium grade gas. that just doesn’t make a Hyundai an economical vehicle.

2018 Hyundai Tucson

It got stolen 4 months after purchasing. I wish I had known it’s one of the most likely stolen cars along with KIAs currently. A total waste of money. Do not purchase as most models don’t have an immobilizer installed in the car, even if it’s a recent model. Thieves only need a screw driver and a USB cable to steal KIA and HYUNDAI models from 2015-2021.

PROS
Interior Space

The car was spacious

CONS
Value

Total waste of money

Simple, but everything I wanted

- Comparable gas mileage to my 2008 Toyota Avalon, and does particularly well on the highway - Really smooth drive and fairly quiet cabin - Just the right amount of space for storing large items, but not too big for our two person family - I got the sports package which cuts out a couple of nice trim options especially for the driver's seat and rear gate, but it really had all of the technology features that I was looking for at the basic level

PROS
Value

Way less expensive than similar models by Toyota and Nissan.

Technology and Entertainment

Had all of the upgrades I was looking for in technology (bluetooth connection, backup cam, USB outlets)

Ride and Handling

Super smooth ride, just like all the other Hyundai models I've driven

CONS
Seat Comfort

All manual controls on the seat for the sports package, but not a big deal to me

Power

Slightly struggles to meet highway speed from a dead stop; have to plan accordingly
