Generation Overview
Making its debut at the 2014 Chicago Auto Show, the sixth generation of the Subaru Legacy was released with the 2015 model year. The two engines were carried in from the fifth generation, with a few tweaks increasing the output potential of the 2.5L four-cylinder engine. This model year added available Eyesight®, Subaru's driver-assistance suite of features, the 2016 model year included an available active lane-keeping assist feature which would add steering torque to prevent drift within the lane. The generation ended with the 2019 model year to make way for the seventh generation in 2020, which switched the Legacy to the Subaru Global Platform, providing a stiffer torsion compared to the sixth generation.
