The 2021 Subaru Outback garners praise for its spacious interior, comfortable ride, and advanced safety features. While its fuel efficiency and tech features are appreciated, some report expensive maintenance and navigation challenges. Though reliable overall, mixed feedback on infotainment usability and storage layout may affect driver preferences.
We traded our Honda Insight for the Subaru Outback. Wow, what an upgrade! This car has all the bells and whistles! The process of purchasing it was also the best car buying experience we have ever had, and we have bought lots of car.
The technology is superior! This vehicle warns you when you are getting close to the edge of your lane. There are so many wonderful things it would take all day to list them.
Love this turbo engine! My last Subaru Outback was a 2010, 3.6R Six Cylinder engine that I sold with about 326,000 miles. Solid car with the get up and go, that I missed. Love the zip of this car as I drive over 30,000 miles/year.
I went from a 2010 Outback to a 2017 Imprezza to a 2021 Outback, thrilled to be back in the bigger car. It is impressive what can be accomplished with an Outback on moving day! Wardrobe box? No problem!
As you can see as the owner of 3 Subies over the last 10ish years, All the ones I've had, have been solid cars that require little TLC. I keep the oil changed, tires rotated, and filters changed. Because of my love for my car, it takes care of me. I fully expect this current one to last for several hundred 100s of miles too.
Where do I start? I HATE this huge display! It is 6" x 10". Please bring buttons back. When I am driving 70mph on the interstate, I don't want to be hitting 3 different places on the touch screen, just to turn on the seat warmer. Did I mention how much I hate this huge display? I don't need about 75% of the options. And why does my car beep at me when I shut it off? Yes, I know the door is open, I'm getting out. Also, I have been driving for 40 years, I don't need to be told over and over again to "keep my eyes on the road" as I am stretching my neck to the side. It is annoying, honestly, I just need "on/off, up/down" simplicity. Please bring back the buttons for safer driving.
Since there is no option to choose "other" or type in my con, I choose, "power" as a con because of the "auto engine shut off." This is always a default option, which is unfortunate. When I am pulling out, I sometimes need to go quickly, waiting for the engine to turn on and then engage (creating a lack of power moment) which is dangerous at busy times of day. I was grateful to have someone show me how to make that toggle touch screen button as part of my home row so I can easily turn it off. However, I don't understand why Subaru has made "on" as a default setting. Stop overhelping and let me choose how I want to drive my beautiful Subaru, thank you.
