Awesome Truck!

Capable, dependable, and ready for any environment. It's more truck than I need on a daily basis, but the features and off road potential are reassuring whenever I drive it - across town or across the country. Considering the current market conditions, the entire CarMax experience left me feeling exceptionally happy about having gone "all in" on this purchase.

Pros

  • Cost to Maintain: My expectations are high for what the overall CTM will be compared to how long I have it.
  • Styling: It's rugged enough to convey my reasons for having it, while still maintaining a level of refinement that evokes a "nice truck" attitude.
  • Weather Versatility: I feel more confident having access to the full spectrum of driving condition capabilities (with the Off Road features).

Cons

  • Fuel Economy: Its not good by any reasonable measure, but I knew that going in. I didn't choose this truck for it's EPA standards.
  • Power: There's a noticeable lag under certain conditions, which requires an after-market solution to correct.
  • Ride and Handling: See fuel economy: with increased off-road capabilities comes reduced on-road comfort, but it's not a deal-breaker, even as a daily driver.

Great little truck

The power of the V6 is incredible - I don't have to plan ahead to pass a slower car like I did with my old car. It handles surprisingly well for a truck too - no floating or loose steering.

Pros

  • Ride and Handling:
  • Reliability:
  • Power:

Cons

  • Fuel Economy:

Tacoma Limited

The truck is a limited edition and has great options with 4 wheel drive. The truck also gets better gas mileage than my older truck. Carmax was a pleasure to deal with no hassle or stress, and most importantly no hidden mark ups.

Pros

  • Fuel Economy:

Cons

  • Visibility: The truck had some chip stops in the painting that I was a little disappointed in.
