5 reasons to buy the 2015 Acura ILX
1. Balanced performance and fuel economy
The 2015 Acura ILX ensures you strike a nice balance between performance and fuel economy. It boasts three engine options that range from a 150-hp 2.0L four-cylinder powertrain to a 201-hp 2.4L four-cylinder borrowed from the sporty Honda Civic Si. Neither engine makes the ILX particularly fast, but the base model has a well-balanced chassis that adds nimbleness, and the 2.4L engine piles in some extra zip to the tune of a 7.1-second zero-to-60 time. On top of respectable performance, both engines offer strong fuel-economy numbers, with the 2.0L checking in at an EPA-estimated 24 mpg city, 34 mpg highway, and 28 mpg combined, and the 2.4L model ringing in at an EPA-estimated 22 mpg city, 31 mpg highway, and 25 mpg combined.
2. Well-appointed interior
Acura is no stranger to attention to detail, and although the 2015 ILX is an entry-level luxury sedan, Acura maintained this focus. From the comfortable seats to the premium materials used throughout the cabin, including a leather-wrapped steering wheel, soft-touch materials, and optional leather seating, every aspect of the ILX exudes luxury. This is a sedan that you and your passengers will enjoy even on the longest journeys.
3. Plenty of standard features
The 2015 Acura ILX has a long list of standard features you’ll love. These include keyless entry, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a rearview camera. You can take the equipment a step further with the optional Technology Package, which adds a premium audio system with a USB port and streaming audio and navigation with real-time traffic and weather. Bumping up to the available Premium Package gives you even more luxurious features, such as leather seating with heated seats, an eight-way power driver’s seat, a multi-view rearview camera, a premium audio system with BluetoothⓇ connectivity, and more.
4. Optional manual transmission
If you want an extra connection with your vehicle as you drive, the Acura ILX is happy to oblige. It features a manual transmission with its available 2.4L four-cylinder engine. So, instead of letting an automatic transmission handle all the shifting, you can take control of the driving by upshifting and downshifting as you see fit.
5. Two infotainment options
On top of the earlier mentioned upscale features, the 2015 Acura ILX offers you two infotainment system options. If you prefer a more basic setup that still has plenty of functionality, you can stick with the standard five-inch display system with well-placed buttons and knobs. If you’re more tech-savvy and want an infotainment system to match, opt for the Technology or Premium Package, which adds a six-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation and voice recognition.
